

Elite Beach Volleyball Training
Join our Elite Beach Volleyball Training for an incredible opportunity to elevate your skills and compete at a higher level in leagues and tournaments.
Designed for male and female athletes ages 14+ through adult, these training sessions provide a high-energy, supportive environment where players can develop technically, compete, and work toward their individual goals.
Athletes will receive experienced coaching from Coach Blake, a long-time beach volleyball athlete with over 30 years of playing experience who continues to compete internationally. Coach Blake has coached at the Team Ontario level, lead sessions with elite athletes in Spain, and brings extensive experience in athlete development and high-performance training environments. Sessions focus on skill development, game strategy, movement training, athletic performance, and building confidence on the sand.
Semi-private and private training sessions are available by appointment through By Request, allowing athletes to receive personalized instruction tailored to their goals, experience level, and competitive aspirations.
We will also occasionally offer larger group clinics and specialty training sessions, which will be posted online as they become available.
Location: Canada Games Park, Thorold (beside Brock University) or Reimer Beach Volleyball Courts, Lincoln, Ontario

Meet the Coaches

Coach Jake and his son, Wallace, all smiles after their court time together in 2025!
Jake Magolan
Coach Jake brings elite-level experience and a passion for developing athletes. A former standout at Queen’s University and Team Ontario, he was a 2× All-Canadian, 5× OUA All-Star, and Queen’s Male Athlete of the Year, along with multiple provincial honours. Jake’s playing career spans indoor and beach volleyball at national and international levels, including competition in Australia, across Canada and the U.S., and FIVB events, as well as international tournaments such as the US Opens, Pan Am Masters, and European competitions including the International Veterans Volleyball Championships for indoor and beach.
Jake has extensive coaching experience in beach and indoor volleyball, including international beach coaching in Australia and developing youth athletes at the club level and with Team Ontario's Regional program.
Beyond his resume, Jake is a coach who cares deeply about the athlete experience. As a parent, he’s committed to helping athletes not only improve their performance—but develop confidence and a lasting love for the game. His goal is simple: to help athletes play at a high level, build confidence, and enjoy the process.

Blake Belcher
Coach Blake, co-founder of By Request Volleyball, brings a deep well of experience, leadership, and passion for athlete development to every session. With a background in college-level indoor volleyball at Seneca College and Niagara College, Blake has spent over 30 years immersed in the sport as both a player and coach. His experience spans rep volleyball programs (12U–18U), the Team Ontario Regional Program, and Tall Maples, where he has consistently helped athletes grow in both skill and confidence.
Blake has also coached internationally, working with young athletes at the International Veteran’s Volleyball Beach Camp in Spain, and has proudly represented Canada on the international stage at the US Opens, Pan Am Masters, and the International Veteran Volleyball Association Championships for beach and indoor competition.
Beyond his resume, Blake believes strongly in the long-term potential of every athlete. His philosophy centers on mindset, discipline, and finding joy in the process. His goal is to help athletes continue progressing—regardless of age or starting point—while building confidence, resilience, and a genuine love for the game.
